As a market leader in keyboards, video image modules, and power supplies, Chicony Group centers its 2025 strategy on "Net-Zero × Resilience." The Group actively participates in major international initiatives, including RE100, validated SBTi targets, and endorsement of the TNFD Adopter, effectively transforming climate action into core business competitiveness.
Decarbonization Performance: Scope 1 & 2 Emissions Halved, RE Reaches 44%
Facing stringent decarbonization demands from global brand clients within the supply chain, Chicony Electronics has delivered concrete results: In 2024, the Renewable Electricity (RE) usage rate reached 44%, significantly surpassing its original targets. Furthermore, the company anticipates RE usage to exceed 50% in 2025. In terms of Greenhouse Gas reduction, Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions were drastically reduced by 51% compared to the 2020 baseline year, demonstrating a strong commitment to the international SBTi decarbonization pathway.
The Company has also integrated the TCFD (Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures) and TNFD (Task Force on Nature-related Financial Disclosures) frameworks, elevating risk management to the Board level. Our efforts include mangrove restoration projects and due diligence on solar power plants in its Thailand factory, fulfilling its commitment to biodiversity.
Internalizing External Carbon Costs: Internal Carbon Pricing at NTD 1,100 Drives Low-Carbon Investment
To further deepen its low-carbon transition, Chicony Electronics is diligently planning its Internal Carbon Pricing (ICP) mechanism. The Company has completed preliminary pricing, setting the benchmark at NTD $1,100 / tCO2e, demonstrating a self-imposed standard higher than regulatory requirements.
Future Outlook: Transparency and Value Chain Integration
Chicony Electronics plans to publish its inaugural combined "TCFD & TNFD Report" by the end of 2025, comprehensively disclosing climate and nature-related risks and opportunities. Looking ahead, Chicony will continue to uphold the four pillars: "Transparent Governance, Smart and Green Manufacturing, Value Chain Integration, and Sustainable Talent Development," partnering with its subsidiaries Chicony Power Technology and Xavi to achieve the 2030 RE100 and 2050 Net-Zero vision, creating sustainable value for shareholders and society.
