Innovation Management
To maintain market competitiveness, CEC continues to invest in R&D, provide a supportive working environment and competitive benefits, and allocate R&D resources annually.
As of 2025, our cumulative number of granted patents had increased by 61.7% compared with five years earlier. CEC also remained among the top 100 organizations for patent grants and applications. We will continue to support internal innovation and external collaboration to optimize workflows and enhance product value.
Expenditures in R&D and Patent Investment
CEC focuses on technological innovation and intellectual property development. To protect the Company’s R&D technologies and accumulate intellectual property achievements, CEC annually establishes “patent key performance indicators” and encourages employees to submit high-quality patent proposals. This approach helps promote the conversion of internal patent proposals into external applications.
At the management level, a digitalized “intellectual property proposal system” has been implemented, enabling R&D personnel to efficiently submit patent ideas through the Company’s internal platform. Both proposers and R&D supervisors can complete submissions and approvals within the system. Internal IP staff then conduct patent searches, provide improvement suggestions, and finalize the proposal review process. Through these systematic approaches and the proactive establishment of patent management procedures, CEC ensures the effective implementation of its patent operations.
Intellectual Property Strategy
In terms of global patent deployment, CEC has continued to strengthen its international intellectual property portfolio. As of 2025, CEC maintained approximately 906 granted patents worldwide, with 333 patent applications currently under examination. The principal countries for patent applications and strategic deployment include Taiwan, China, and the United States, reflecting our commitment to protecting core technologies and strengthening global competitiveness.
