Chicony Electronics actively responds to social welfare and sustainability initiatives, exerting a positive social impact. In addition to effectively utilizing company events, the Company building, and the Company Family Day to invite charitable organizations and NGOs to set up booths, we are also actively expanding external connections. This includes supporting the 2024 National Chengchi University Campus Marathon, promoting sustainable sports events, and advocating for waste reduction and plastic reduction, thereby implementing environmental protection principles. At the same time, we responded to the call of the New Taipei City Government by signing the "Memorandum of Cooperation for Disaster Prevention in New Taipei City." This initiative aims to enhance the autonomous disaster prevention capabilities of enterprises, integrate disaster prevention and relief resources between businesses and public sectors, and leverage expertise in factory safety management and building asset management. We hope to promote cooperation and mutual assistance with the community, jointly enhancing disaster resilience and safeguarding social safety.

CEC leverages its expertise in factory safety management and asset management to assist the community in disaster prevention. The Company regularly collaborates with the local fire department to conduct educational training and disaster response drills, ensuring overall disaster preparedness.

 

CEC has established disaster prevention cooperation with public sectors to build and enhance autonomous disaster prevention capabilities. This initiative aims to reduce the impact of disasters when they occur and to integrate the disaster response capabilities of both enterprises and public sectors for mutual support. Additionally, CEC has created channels for interaction and exchange with local enterprises and neighboring communities, enabling mutual assistance during disasters and establishing important partnerships in disaster prevention cooperation.

2024 National Chengchi University Campus Marathon

 

Collaborating with the social enterprise "Water Refill Action" to jointly promote a culture of reducing plastic in sports events.

 

Chicony Electronics provides participants with foldable sports water bottles made from TPU material, which is non-toxic and safe, making it convenient for repeated use during sports activities. Additionally, we assist National Chengchi University in establishing water stations to promote a culture of bringing personal water bottles on campus and reducing the use of bottled water.

 

This year's participants repeatedly used water cups during the competition, significantly reducing the originally estimated need for 5,800 paper cups to 1,400 cups (approximately a 75% reduction).

 

Due to participants bringing their own eco-friendly water cups, the water stations along the racecourse for this event will replace bottled water with bulk water, allowing participants to fill their own containers. This event utilized a total of 24 barrels of water, amounting to 480 liters, which is equivalent to 800 bottles of 600 cc. The total carbon reduction achieved was 122.4 kilograms.

Chicony Electronics upholds corporate social responsibility by encouraging employees to participate in public welfare and volunteer activities, with the hope of gathering resources to expand social impact.

In 2024, the Company will continue to organize blood donation events, calling on group colleagues and building leasing partners to contribute their blood. We also support the People Caring Club—an internal employee fundraising group—collaborating with external NGOs to jointly create a positive impact on society. The Company not only provides financial support to promote the group's operations but also expands its impact through concrete actions. Dedicated spaces are offered at the HQ building and during the annual Family Day, allowing the People Caring Club to sell fundraising products. This effort brings more resources and care to disadvantaged groups. In 2024, the People Caring Club collaborated with over 10 different NGOs and social welfare organizations to hold more than 30 fundraising sales events. Overseas factories continue to support local community development through material donations and public welfare sponsorship during important festivals.

In April 2025, Chicony Electronics formally established the "Chicony Volunteer Service Association," attracting over 30 colleagues to voluntarily participate in community service initiatives. Following its establishment, the volunteer association launched community service activities in partnership with the Cihui Volunteer Group of Xianqian Temple in Sanchong District, New Taipei City, participating in volunteer services for the Shennong Festival celebration on May 17. On the event day, volunteers actively engaged in various tasks including item arrangement, environmental maintenance, and table and chair setup, contributing enthusiastically to this traditional cultural event. The establishment and operation of the Volunteer Service Association not only enhances employee awareness of community engagement but also enables colleagues to extend their social impact beyond work through corporate citizenship practices. This initiative embodies Chicony's sustainable business philosophy of "taking from society and giving back to society," establishing a new milestone in our corporate social responsibility efforts.

 

Chicony Electronics has consistently upheld its commitment to environmental sustainability and actively fulfilled its corporate social responsibility. On October 18, 2025, we partnered with professional volunteer instructors from the Society of Wilderness to jointly launch the "Wugu Wetlands Conservation Initiative."

The Wugu Wetlands, located on the western edge of the Taipei Basin at the confluence of the Tamsui River and Keelung River, serves as a crucial ecological stopover for migratory birds, with records documenting up to 94 bird species. However, this precious wetland had previously lost its vitality due to human-induced damage.

Chicony Electronics, situated in Sanchong District near the Tamsui River estuary, has enthusiastically engaged its volunteer team in habitat conservation efforts, including the removal of invasive species Mikania micrantha, riverside cleanup operations, and maintenance of waterbird mudflats—all labor-intensive tasks. We aspire to contribute our efforts to the gradual restoration of this land's rich and diverse ecological landscape.

The Chicony Volunteer Service Association partnered with the New Taipei City Banqiao Toy Bank to jointly practice the philosophy of "extending the life of toys and delivering boundless warmth."

At the Banqiao Toy Bank logistics center, our volunteers assisted with box handling operations and organized cluttered packages into orderly arrangements, enabling more efficient space utilization. Additionally, we meticulously verified incoming shipment weights and donation sources to facilitate subsequent toy inspections and categorization conducted by professional social workers.

We are committed to continuing our involvement in related volunteer activities next year, giving new value and meaning to toys that carry cherished childhood memories.
